Job Description:

Early Years Teaching Assistant Job in Morley, South Leeds. I am working with a two-form entry school based in Morley that is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team to work in their early years classes. They are a wonderful school graded "Good" by Ofsted. They focus on learning and create an innovative environment and curriculum for children. The school community works together to bring the curriculum to life, with staff often participating in fun events. The aim is to prepare children for the future with the skills to contribute positively to society. The school is accessible via public transport from Leeds city centre and is near the M621 and M62. The role involves mainly supporting in Reception and Nursery, often providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, but also assisting across the class as needed. The team is supportive, working closely to provide engaging lessons. The position is available to start immediately, ongoing until summer holidays, with potential for a temporary to permanent role for suitable candidates.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a nursery or school setting, with at least 40 days working with children (via volunteer work, sports coaching, guides/brownies, etc.)
  • An Early Years qualification is advantageous
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is advantageous
  • A reliable, flexible, and hardworking approach, adaptable to different roles
  • A positive attitude, good sense of humor, and passion for working with young children
