Job summary

Hodge Hill Girls' School in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic Head of Year to provide strong pastoral leadership and oversee welfare, attendance and pupil development for a year group.

The post is a one-year fixed-term contract (36.50 hours per week, term time only plus two weeks) starting ASAP, with a focus on safeguarding and collaboration with staff, parents and carers to raise aspirations and outcomes for every girl.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral or student-support role within secondary education.
• Ability to support welfare, attendance, behaviour and personal development.
• Strong communication with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day welfare, progress, attendance and personal development for the year group.
• Collaborate with students, parents, carers and staff to create a supportive environment.
• Use data to identify students needing additional support or intervention.
