Year End Accountant (Fixed Term Contract) – The Methodist Church, London
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Year End Accountant to support our finance team in delivering accurate and timely statutory accounts. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and has a sharp eye for detail. Candidates for this position must be available for an immediate start. The Year End Accountant will support the year end process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This includes collaborating with colleagues in the finance team to prepare financial statements, reviewing reconciliations and audit schedules prepared by finance team colleagues, and producing financial accounts. They will collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit execution, identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial data.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with extensive post-qualification experience in financial reporting for large charities and good knowledge of relevant legislation including IFRS 102 and The Charity SORP. They will be an effective leader and understand how to get the best from colleagues. They will have strong interpersonal skills that enable them to develop effective relationships with colleagues they work with. They will have the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. They will also be sympathetic to the ethos of the Methodist Church.
