Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Year 8 Teacher to join a committed secondary teaching team. This role offers the opportunity to engage pupils at a pivotal stage in their academic and personal development, helping to inspire confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 8 Teacher:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the Year 8 curriculum in your specialist subject

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform planning and intervention

  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers

  • Contribute to the wider school life, including clubs, events, and enrichment activities

Ideal Year 8 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 3 (Year 8 experience desirable)

  • Excellent subject knowledge and strong classroom management skills as a Year 8 Teacher.

  • A passion for helping young learners thrive academically and personally

  • A reflective, collaborative, and resilient approach to teaching
