Full-Time Teaching Assistant for Year 6 Class

Location: Openshaw, Manchester

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Year 6 team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and enhancing the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their learning goals.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and adapt activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Help to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support.
  • Prepare and organize teaching materials and resources.
  • Supervise students during break times, excursions, and other school activities.
  • Support the assessment and recording of student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student well-being and development.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting teaching and learning.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting, particularly in Key Stage 2, is desirable.
