Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Year 6 Teaching Assistant at a Primary School in Atherton, M46. You will support Year 6 pupils with their learning, helping them stay on track for SATs and settle into a familiar school community.

This is a long-term, immediate-start temporary role with flexible days and hours, offering access to Milk Education training, safeguarding courses and a supportive consultant to help you progress.

Qualifications

We're currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Atherton, M46 to work in the Year 6 class to support the Year 6 pupils with their learning, keeping them on track for their SATs. This role is on a long-term basis starting immediately and is a temporary role.

You'll be joining a Primary School who are passionate about a life-long love of learning. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting across the Year 6 class, responding to all children's individual needs

• Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
