Year 6 Teacher Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 6.
  • Support students through SATs preparation, ensuring they are confident and well-equipped for their transition to secondary school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear learning targets.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence, curiosity, and a love for learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and leadership to ensure high-quality curriculum delivery.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities as required.
Year 6 Teacher Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and SATs preparation.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A team-oriented approach and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
