Job summary

A supportive primary school near Stockton is seeking an experienced Year 6 Teacher to prepare pupils for secondary school and SATs from September. This full-time role requires a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and proven abilities in classroom management. The ideal candidate will plan engaging lessons, monitor progress, and create an inclusive environment. Excellent communication skills and QTS are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Role: Experienced Year 6 Teacher

Location: Near Stockton

Full-Time Position

Start Date: September

Pay: 140 - 160 per day (depending on experience)

Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking primary school near the Stockton area. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join the team from September on a full-time basis.

About the Role:
As the Year 6 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school, with a particular focus on SATs preparation. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, tracking progress, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in a calm and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments (SATs) with confidence and structure
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress regularly and provide effective feedback
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and staff to support student development
  • Contribute to the wider school community and participate in staff meetings and CPD

Essential Experience & Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience teaching in a Year 6 class
  • Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation
  • Proven ability to raise attainment and manage behaviour effectively
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
  • A proactive and committed approach to teaching and learning
  • ECTs will not be considered for this position due to the experience required by the school
