Job description

We are looking for a committed and inspiring Year 6 Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive school team. This is a pivotal role as pupils prepare for their transition to secondary school, and we are seeking someone who can help them grow in confidence, consolidate their learning, and achieve their full potential. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 6 Teacher:

  1. Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum.

  2. Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments (SATs), supporting both academic progress and wellbeing.

  3. Create a supportive classroom culture that encourages responsibility, resilience, and respect.

  4. Monitor and assess pupils' progress, using data to inform next steps in learning.

  5. Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents.

Ideal Year 6 Teacher:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  2. Proven experience in KS2, ideally Year 6.

  3. A solid understanding of assessment and expectations at the end of Key Stage 2.

  4. Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Year 6 Teacher.

  5. A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to teaching and teamwork.
