Special Educational Needs Support Assistant - Year 6 (Dewsbury)

Accelerate Teaching are seeking an experienced and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant to join a large primary school in Dewsbury. This full-time role is centred around providing tailored support to a Year 6 child diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

In this role, you will be supporting a child navigate their educational journey and will work closely with the classroom teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to implement effective behaviour management strategies, ensuring that the child can fully engage in their learning environment.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • One-on-one support, adapting teaching methods to meet the child's unique needs.
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages academic and social growth.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working in a school-based environment, with a strong background in supporting children with ADHD or similar needs. You should have a deep understanding of how to create a structured, supportive environment that enables children to thrive.

Your commitment to making a positive impact, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills, will be key to success in this role.
