Job summary

Premier Education Ltd is recruiting an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class in Hyde. The role involves delivering Read Write Inc. interventions and assisting with reading, writing and phonics development.

You will work closely with the class teacher to provide targeted literacy and numeracy support, monitor progress and help pupils prepare for secondary school. DBS update service checked or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Recent experience as a Teaching Assistant within KS2.
• Experience delivering Read Write Inc. - essential.
• Confidence supporting Year 6 pupils.
• Good understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum.
• Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
• Caring, reliable and proactive approach.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom.
• Deliver Read Write Inc. sessions to individuals and small groups.
• Provide targeted literacy and numeracy support.
• Help pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school.
• Support positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Assist the teacher with classroom activities and resources.
• Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
