Job summary

Teach Plus are seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with ASD in a welcoming Edgware primary school. This full-time role starts ASAP and requires collaboration with the class teacher and SEN team to help the pupil access the Year 6 curriculum.

The role focuses on building the pupil’s confidence, communication, and independence within a supportive school environment that values inclusion and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with Update Service required.
• Right to work in the UK required.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support for a Year 6 pupil with ASD
• Support the pupil in accessing the Year 6 curriculum and participating in classroom activities
• Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation and engagement
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
• Monitor progress and adapt support to the pupil’s needs
