Job description

An outstanding and well-respected two-form entry primary school in Cambridge is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join their experienced Key Stage 2 team from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils at a crucial stage as they grow in independence, maturity, and confidence ahead of their final year in primary school.

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role:

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the Year 5 curriculum

• Support pupils to become independent learners with strong problem-solving and reasoning skills

• Use assessment to inform teaching and ensure good progress for all pupils

• Foster a classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated

• Work closely with your year group colleague and wider KS2 team

• Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to support learning at home

What We re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5

• Strong knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum and progression to Year 6

• Effective classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire

• A creative, reflective, and inclusive approach to teaching

• A commitment to high expectations and supporting all learners to succeed
