Overview

We are delighted to support a well-regarded primary school in the St Albans area in appointing a Class Teacher for Year 5 (Maternity Cover), starting January 2026. This is a full-time fixed-term role, with the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the life and learning of pupils in a supportive, ambitious environment.

The Role
  • You will lead one of the Year 5 classes during the maternity absence and deliver high-quality teaching across the curriculum.
  • You should be creative, enthusiastic, and committed to the highest standards of pupil wellbeing and academic achievement.
  • You will work with the existing Year 5 team to maintain consistency, coherence, and continuity of learning, helping to further develop and refine the curriculum as needed.
About You
  • You will be an excellent teacher with experience (or a strong ability) in KS2, ideally having taught Year 5 or equivalent years.
  • You should be committed to ongoing professional development, able to collaborate with colleagues, and ready to take on the challenge of shaping learning outcomes.
  • You will place children\'s wellbeing at the centre of your approach, supporting their personal growth as well as their academic progress.
