Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive Key Stage 2 team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with confident, curious learners who are developing independence and resilience in preparation for upper Key Stage 2.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about creating engaging learning experiences and fostering a love of learning. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 Teacher:
  • Deliver creative, well-planned lessons that motivate and challenge pupils of all abilities.
  • Support pupils in developing key skills across the curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking.
  • Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and drive progress.
  • Establish a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, assess and reflect on learning.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and the wider school community.
Ideal Year 5 Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • High expectations for pupil behaviour and achievement.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and connect with children.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A reflective, adaptable and proactive approach to teaching.
