Job summary

Belmont Community Primary School in Grantham is seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher to lead a Year 5 class within the Key Stage 2 team. You will create engaging, effective learning environments while nurturing students’ social and emotional growth.

Early Career Teachers are particularly welcome and will be supported by a designated mentor and an ECT induction programme from day one. This fixed-term post reflects pupil numbers and will be reviewed before the 2027–28 academic year.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree-level qualification.
• Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, including KS2 placement during initial teacher training for ECTs.
• Ability to plan and teach well-structured, well-adapted lessons that engage and challenge every pupil.
• Strong knowledge of assessment for learning and confident behaviour management.
• Ability to safeguard and promote pupils' welfare with emotional resilience when working with challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues and parents.
• Collaborative, team-first approach and commitment to professional development.
