Your new company

A two-form entry school in the Wirral area is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support their KS2 department. You will be required to work with one of the year 5 class teachers. You will be responsible for a small group of pupils with learning difficulties.

Your new role

  • Support the class teacher in the classroom, prepare resources and teaching materials
  • Ensure that the children in the class have access to the curriculum
  • Support pupils with special needs, preparing individual resources for pupils who need them
  • Work closely with the class teacher, planning lessons and activities and assessing progress
  • Create a positive working and learning environment in the classroom.
What you'll need to succeed
  • At least 6 months experience working as a Teaching Assistant within the last two years, particularly in KS2
  • Ability to work on your own initiative without supervision, strong behaviour management skills, and ability to differentiate work depending on individual abilities
  • Ideally, the school prefers a qualified teaching assistant, but candidates with classroom-based KS2 experience will also be considered.
