Year 4 Class Teacher - Primary

Area: Swindon, SN5

Salary: £162.30- 251.71 p/day

Start date: September 2025

Hours of work: Full Time

A medium-sized primary school in Swindon is recruiting for a Key Stage 2 Qualified Teacher. The role begins in September 2025, but there is flexibility on the start date for the right candidate. The school will consider both ECT & final year students. Experience within this age group would be advantageous but not essential. The school, located in west Swindon, was graded as 'Good' in its last Ofsted inspection in November 2019. The school strives to create a friendly, supportive working environment for staff, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have QTS or QTLS
  • Have the ability and knowledge to teach primary school pupils
  • Be highly organized with excellent communication skills
  • Desire to work with, inspire, and support children from all needs and backgrounds
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Understand the Teachers Standards
Main Responsibilities
  • Teaching a variety of subjects to primary pupils
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class and group learning
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Supervising lunch and break times (if applicable)
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils' work to support assessments
  • Providing feedback to relevant staff about pupils' progress
  • Having pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially leading in a subject area
  • Ensuring a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
