Job description

Year 4 teacher needed for upcoming Spring Summer term!

This vibrant 2 form entry school at the heart of the village community caters for 380 pupils in thirteen classes and quality of teaching is at a consistently high level. Outcomes for pupils are consistently good throughout the school. The children are nurtured, kept safe and are well cared for (Ofsted 2017).

The school is one of 10 schools in the Trust and currently comprises of 4 primary and 6 secondary schools. The school building is modern, attractive and well-maintained and includes an exceptional purpose-built 60-place Foundation Stage unit for Reception children, opened in September 2015 and a two classroom Upper Junior unit opened in May 2018. All classrooms are spacious and well-equipped, and the school prides itself on the quality of the classroom displays.

The grounds comprise two play areas, as well as a regional award-winning community garden. The large playing field easily accommodates football and rounders pitches, plus a running track and wildlife areas. Overall, the high quality of the learning environment provides a very favourable context for effective learning and teaching.

Pupil behaviour throughout the school is very good. Pupil attendance statistics are also very good and are above national and county averages.

There is a very wide range of extra-curricular activities open to pupils of all ages and the school takes part in many inter-school sports competitions throughout the year.

The school is a caring and inclusive school and is proud of the care, guidance and support they provide for all pupils and particularly those with Special Educational Needs.

The school is now seeking to appoint a qualified teacher for the upcoming Spring and Summer term. Previous experience is necessary and there will be the expectation of planning and marking and becoming an intrinsic part of the school's happy staff. The right candidate for this role will:
  1. Have experience teaching in KS2
  2. TS status
  3. Eligibility to work in the UK
  4. In-depth knowledge of the Curriculum
  5. Have consistent and effective behaviour management techniques
  6. Be pro-active and hard-working with an outgoing and approachable personality
  7. Have excellent teamwork skills and communication
  8. Be able to adapt to teach a variety of behaviour management schemes
  9. Have 2 educational references from your most recent employers
It would also be advantageous to have:
  1. SEN skills (desired but not essential).
  2. Experience with The National Reading and Numeracy Tests (desired but not essential).
  3. Knowledge of the local area.
