Year 3/Year 4 Teaching Assistant

Prospero are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Year 3/4 Teaching Assistant to work with a school in the Wirral. The strongest applicant will have confidence in Mathematics and English.

• Type of work – Long Term
• Start date – As soon as possible
• Contract type – Long-term Temporary

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Individualised Support: Offering tailored assistance to the assigned student to help them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. Adapting teaching materials and methods to suit the student’s individual needs and learning style
• Classroom Assistance: Supporting the class teacher by helping the student stay on task and engaged during lessons. Assisting with classroom management and ensuring a positive learning environment for all students.
• Monitoring Progress: Tracking the student’s progress and development, and providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO (if applicable). Keeping detailed records of the student’s achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
• Personal Development: Encouraging the student’s social, emotional, and personal development. Helping the student to build confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
• Collaboration: Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to ensure the student’s needs are met.
• Personal Care and Safety: Assisting with any personal care needs, such as helping with toileting or mobility if required. Ensuring the student’s safety and well-being at all times.
• Inclusive Support: Promoting the student’s inclusion in classroom activities and social interactions with peers. Helping the student to develop effective communication and social skills.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent (Desirable)
• Previous experience working with young people.
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional references.
