Job description

Teaching Assistant - Year 3 (1:1 SEN Support)
Location: BS30, Bristol Area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £90 per day (higher rates available depending on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: September 2025
Position Type: Full-time

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and welcoming primary school in the BS30 area for a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a Year 3 (Lower Key Stage 2) class.

This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, ideal for someone looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey. The position is offered through a well-established education recruitment agency, with ongoing support and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their potential

  • Support the class teacher in managing the learning environment and delivering lesson activities

  • Work closely with the SENCO and other professionals to implement tailored strategies

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting

  • An understanding of the needs of pupils with additional learning requirements

  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to learning support

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable
