Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3/4 Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive team at schools around Suffolk for long-term and short-term placements. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to make a real difference in Lower Key Stage 2, fostering a love for learning and supporting children’s development during this crucial stage of their education.

As a Year 3/4 Teacher, you will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, helping pupils transition smoothly from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, while building their confidence, independence, and academic skills. This role begins in June 2025.

Duties as a Year 3/4 Teacher include:

1. Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons in line with the KS2 National Curriculum.
2. Supporting pupils in developing their literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
3. Encouraging independent learning while providing targeted support where needed.
4. Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress and attainment.
5. Creating a positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and resilience.
6. Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils.
7. Managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and inclusive learning space.
8. Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues to support pupil development.
9. Participating in school events, extracurricular activities, and CPD opportunities.

Ideal Year 3/4 Teacher:

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 3 or 4 (desirable but not essential for ECTs).
3. A passion for engaging and inspiring young learners.
4. Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
