Location: Handsworth, Birmingham B20
Day Rate: £105 - 115
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 01/09/2025
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

A welcoming and well-led primary school in Handsworth is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class full-time from September.

This role is perfect for someone with Key Stage 1 experience who enjoys helping children develop their confidence, literacy, and independence through guided group work and 1:1 support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils within a Year 2 class
- Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging learning activities
- Provide targeted support to pupils who need extra help reaching age-related expectations
- Help with behaviour management and pastoral care
- Contribute to a calm, positive and supportive learning environment

You Will Need:
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a relevant qualification
- Previous experience supporting children in KS1 (Year 1 or Year 2 ideally)
- A nurturing, reliable, and proactive attitude
- Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and phonics (Read Write Inc. or Letters & Sounds)
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them thrive
