About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join our team from November 2025 to July 2026. You will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing a rich, engaging curriculum for Year 2 pupils, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating closely with staff, leaders and parents to support each child's progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
- Plan and deliver high quality lessons across all subjects in the Year 2 curriculum
- Use formative and summative assessment to track pupils' progress and inform future planning
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students
- Promote excellent behaviour, attendance and a positive learning culture
- Develop strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to wider school life: assemblies, events, extra-curricular activities
- Collaborate with year group colleagues and subject leads to share best practice and ensure continuity
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school improvement initiatives

Person Specification - What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) - ECTs are welcome to apply
- Has experience (or a strong interest) teaching KS1, particularly Year 2
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge, especially in literacy and mathematics
- Understands effective assessment practices and uses data to drive progress
- Has excellent classroom management skills and can foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Is adaptable, reflective and keen to learn and develop professionally
- Communicates effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues
