Job Description:

Wayman Education is working with a vibrant and fun primary school based in Slough seeking a proactive and emotionally intelligent Year 2 Teacher to start in April 2024.

The children are hardworking, caring, inquisitive and imaginative, and the staff here aspire to develop well-rounded, confident pupils through a supportive pastoral environment. We are seeking a primary teacher who knows how to drive attainment and create engaging lessons.

Responsibilities of a Year 2 Teacher:

• Be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their first steps in Key Stage 1, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment.
• Teach the Key Stage 1 curriculum to groups of children, focusing on individual learning targets, encouraging strengths, and improving weaknesses.
• Develop maths ability and introduce fractions, statistics, and geometry.
• Help children develop their writing skills by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories.
• Track children's progress and report back to parents as needed.
