Candidates must hold QTS in Primary Education and have experience with Year 2 children. Familiarity with Phonics schemes such as Letters and Sounds is essential. A primary school in Trafford are hoping to find a Year 2 teacher for after October half term. The Head Teacher and Governors have decided to appoint a temporary member of staff from November to December with a view to recruit for a permanent role starting from the Spring term.
The incoming Year 2 teacher will need to be willing to take on full time responsibilities including planning, marking, data entry, continual assessments etc. The school are currently using Letters and Sounds as their main whole class Phonics Scheme but also use Read Write Inc. as an intervention scheme to boost Reading and Writing.
It is essential to be able to work alongside children with a variety of needs, both socially and academically. You would be expected to attend weekly staff meetings and relevant twilights during the term. The Head Teacher hopes to appoint a teacher with a willingness to learn and with keen team spirit, who can fit in well with their valuable team of staff.
