Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join a supportive and vibrant team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator or a confident ECT with a passion for nurturing young learners and helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 2 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

  • Use a range of assessment methods to monitor and support pupil progress

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and school events

Ideal Year 2 Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills as a Year 2 Teacher.

  • Be reflective, organised and committed to continuous professional development

  • Have a sound understanding of phonics, early literacy and numeracy strategies
