Job description

Humly is recruiting a Year 2 Class Teacher on behalf of a supportive primary school in Accrington, starting in January 2026 and continuing until July 2026. The school is seeking a confident and capable teacher with a strong understanding of early reading and early maths, to support pupils in building core learning foundations.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in early reading, phonics, and maths
  • Supporting a class of 24 pupils, including several with EAL and SEN (1 pupil with ADHD/ASD)
  • Working closely with the full-time TA in class to deliver tailored support and interventions
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment
  • Assessing progress and adapting teaching to meet pupil needs
What You'll Bring
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) - the school will consider experienced ECTs
  • Confidence teaching Key Stage 1, particularly early reading and maths
  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
  • A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) and two suitable references
