Job description

We are looking for a proactive and caring Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team, working in a mixed Year 2/3 class. This is a wonderful opportunity to help children thrive academically and emotionally during a vital stage in their primary education. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide support to pupils across Year 2 and Year 3, both in class and through small group interventions.

  • Assist the teacher with planning, classroom organisation, and preparation of learning materials.

  • Reinforce key skills in reading, writing, phonics and maths.

  • Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND, in line with individual learning plans.

  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive and well-structured learning environment.

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

  • Have experience working with KS1 and/or lower KS2 pupils, preferably in a mixed-age class.

  • Be confident delivering phonics and early literacy support.

  • Be patient, flexible and committed to supporting children’s learning and development.

  • Work well as part of a team and independently when needed as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.

  • Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or have equivalent experience.
