Year 1 Teacher Assistant Full Time South East London

Role: Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Start: September 2025

Location: Greenwich, South East London

Contract: Full time

Rate: 97 - 115 per day

Remedy are working with an Outstanding Primary school who are looking for a great year 1 Teaching Assistant to start September. As a Year 1 Teacher Assistant your day to day role will involve you providing direct support for the classroom teacher, management of the class, carry out interventions in Phonics, Math and English and deliver programmes tailored to children's needs.

As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant you will need to successfully demonstrate that you can create a positive inclusive learning environment for the student whilst collaborating with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirements:

  • A clear understanding of EYFS curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong safeguarding experience
  • An Enhanced DBS (Preferably on the update service)
