We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and dedicated team. This is a wonderful opportunity to support young learners as they build essential early skills and confidence in their first years of primary school. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant:

1. Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons and activities.
2. Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning, especially in phonics, reading, writing, and early numeracy.
3. Help to set up and organise classroom activities and maintain a stimulating learning environment.
4. Provide additional support to pupils with varying needs to ensure every child can access the curriculum.
5. Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and school trips as needed.
6. Promote positive behaviour and help pupils develop good social skills and independence.
7. Support with preparing resources, displays, and general classroom organisation.

Ideal Year 1 Teaching Assistant:

1. Previous experience working with young children, ideally in a Key Stage 1 setting, is desirable.
2. A good understanding of the Year 1 curriculum, especially phonics and early learning.
3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
