Job summary

Academics are seeking a Year 1 Teacher for a long-term temporary position in a welcoming primary school in Rotherham. The role involves taking responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils as they transition into Key Stage 1.

The position is long-term with potential to continue for the right candidate. Flexible general supply work across Rotherham is also available, with competitive daily rates paid via PAYE and holiday pay included.

Qualifications

• QTS required.
• Experience teaching Year 1 or KS1 is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Good knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 1 lessons.
• Follow the school’s curriculum and planning expectations.
• Establish positive relationships with pupils.
• Manage behaviour effectively and consistently.
