We’re looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Year 1 Teacher to join our vibrant, good-rated 2-form entry primary school in Barking, starting in May 2025! What You’ll Be Doing

  • Creating exciting lessons: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that foster a love for learning in Year 1 students, covering literacy, numeracy, and creative subjects.
  • Supporting development: Help young learners develop key skills and confidence as they transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1.
  • Creating a positive classroom: Build a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
  • Tracking progress: Assess student progress regularly, provide meaningful feedback, and set clear goals to help each child grow and succeed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues: Work closely with other teachers and staff to share best practices and deliver an inspiring and well-rounded curriculum.
  • Communicating with parents: Maintain strong relationships with parents, keeping them updated on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Engaging in professional development: Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to continue developing your skills as an educator.

  • A qualified Year 1 Teacher with experience or a passion for working with younger students.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A good understanding of the National Curriculum and how to deliver effective lessons in Year 1.
