Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated primary teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire and support young learners? Academics Bristol is seeking a talented and motivated Year 1 Teacher for a maternity cover in an East Bristol mainstream primary school.

Contract type: Fixed-term maternity cover

Location: Bristol (BS5)

Start date: September 2025

Salary: Paid to scale

About the role

• Providing high-quality teaching and learning for Year 1 pupils, ensuring they are supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their best.
• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the school\'s curriculum and schemes of work.
• Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, using assessment to inform teaching.
• Adapt teaching to respond to individual strengths and needs.
• Take an active role in the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Manage behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.

What we\'re looking for from you

• A teacher who holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly EYFS or KS1
• Skilled at planning and differentiating to meet diverse learning needs.
