Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham

Aspire People are working in partnership with a lovely primary school in Edgbaston to recruit a committed and experienced Year 1 Teacher for a maternity cover position starting on 3rd November 2025. This full-time role will run until 20th July 2026 and is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and well-established team.

Responsibilities
  • As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will:
  • Take full responsibility for the planning, delivery and assessment of the Year 1 curriculum
  • Create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and senior leaders
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to support pupil progress
About You
  • We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - this is essential
  • Has recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1
  • Is confident in delivering a creative and engaging curriculum in line with national standards
  • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to making a positive impact
