Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a warm and supportive school community. This is an exciting opportunity to nurture young learners at a vital stage in their development and make a lasting impact on their education. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 1 Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and confidence

• Use assessment to inform teaching and track pupil progress effectively

• Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff

• Promote high standards of behaviour and a love of learning

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and school events

Ideal Year 1 Teacher:

• Holds QTS and has experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1

• Has a strong understanding of early reading, phonics (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc.), and KS1 assessment

• Is caring, enthusiastic, and committed to nurturing the whole child

• Has excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills as a Year 1 Teacher.

• Works effectively as part of a team and shows initiative in the classroom
