Qualifications

About the Role

The school is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Year 1 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team in September 2025. This is a full-time post with teaching responsibilities within a supportive, collaborative year group team. Teachers benefit from regular shared planning time, access to high-quality resources, and a school culture focused on continuous improvement and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, purposeful, and differentiated lessons in line with the Year 1 National Curriculum

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment for all learners

  • Use both formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and guide next steps

  • Work closely with fellow Year 1 teachers, teaching assistants, and leaders to share best practice

  • Maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

  • Contribute to enrichment activities, school trips, and wider school life

  • Promote and model the school s ethos and high expectations for behaviour and achievement

Essential Requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Recent and relevant classroom experience in Key Stage 1 (ideally Year 1)

  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Excellent understanding of the National Curriculum and phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc. or similar)

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

  • Two professional references covering the last two years

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in a similar London-based or multi-form-entry primary school

  • Experience adapting lessons for a wide range of learning needs, including EAL and SEND

  • Familiarity with KS1 assessment frameworks and moderation

  • A growth mindset and desire to engage in CPD and whole-school initiatives
