Job description

Year 1 Teacher - Harrow - HA2 - September 2025 Start

Are you a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher seeking a part-time teaching opportunity within a supportive and vibrant school community? Whether you're an experienced practitioner or an ECT, we would love to hear from you!

We are working with an outstanding and high-achieving primary school in Harrow that is looking to appoint a Year 1 Teacher starting from September 2025.

Responsibilities of this Year 1 Teacher role:

  • Stay up to date with educational research and policies through training, workshops, and reading, while actively implementing all school and local authority initiatives.
  • Promote a positive school culture by modelling excellent teaching practices, motivating staff, and representing the school in meetings with governors and external networks.
  • Plan and deliver a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that challenges all pupils and supports progress in core and non-core subjects.
  • Monitor pupil progress closely, using data to identify and implement effective interventions that close learning gaps and raise achievement.
  • Collaborate regularly with colleagues and parents to support individual learning needs and communicate curriculum developments.

The ideal candidate for this Year 1 Teacher role will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1
  • Be committed to delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Be a team player with a reflective and proactive approach
