Job summary

The Mead School in Royal Tunbridge Wells is seeking a Year 1 Class Teacher for maternity cover. The role is part-time (Mon-Wed) with hours 8:00am–4:00pm, some evenings, and a fixed-term contract up to 12 months.

You will join a team delivering an engaging curriculum with opportunities to contribute to concerts, clubs and choir/music activities, supporting a positive school culture and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Recent classroom teaching experience in a primary setting.
• Degree-level qualification and QTS are required.
• Deliver engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences for Year 1 pupils.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Year 1 learning experiences in line with school vision.
• Organise and lead activities outside the classroom (concerts, clubs, music groups).
• Support pupil care, wellbeing and happiness and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Participate in after-hours events and staff meetings as required.
