We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Coach for our Men’s Section, to lead the 1st Team and support the club’s ambitions for continued success and progression through the leagues.

Our club’s growth is driven by a committed group of volunteers, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and development-focused environment. Our adult teams are closely linked with our juniors, with many young players successfully progressing into senior squads. This pathway is strengthened by an excellent blend of emerging talent and experienced players.

The Role:

· Take charge of the Men’s 1st Team, creating a high-performance culture. The team currently competes in South Central Division 1, with ambitions for promotion in the next couple of seasons.

· Develop and implement a training and development programme for the 1st and 2nd Teams, alongside nurturing emerging juniors transitioning into the senior section.

· Report to the Men’s Club Captain, collaborating on agreed objectives, team selection policies (working alongside Captains and the Selection Panel), and junior integration.

· Deliver one training session per week (Wednesday evenings) and manage matchday coaching for the Men’s 1st Team on Saturdays.

· Plan and deliver pre-season, including player recruitment, fitness preparation, and training sessions.

· Support wider club initiatives, such as our junior development programme.

· (Optional) Early involvement in pre-season friendly fixtures to build squad cohesion and nurture new talent.

· (Optional) Opportunity to expand the role to include additional coaching across the Men’s 3rd and 4th XI squads (Thursday evenings).

Pay:

Competitive, depending on coaching qualifications and experience, and includes reasonable travel expenses for away fixtures.

Person Specification:

· Minimum England Hockey Level 2 qualification (or working towards Level 3).
