Overview

Yardman / Forklift & Delivery Driver based in Plymouth. Salary: £12.50 - £13.00 per hour. Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-4:00pm (42 hours per week). Job Type: Permanent. This role is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term stability within a busy and friendly team. The role involves a mix of yard work, forklift operation, and local deliveries, supporting the day-to-day flow of materials across the site.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading supplier, customer, and company vehicles
• Booking materials in and out, ensuring delivery and collection notes are accurate
• Picking and safely packing fencing and fabrication materials for dispatch
• Preparing materials for coating
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
• Recording and resolving material discrepancies
• Managing stock control and assisting with stock checks
• Supporting transport planning and logistics
• Overseeing forklift maintenance and daily safety checks
• Managing skips and waste disposal

Candidate Requirements

• Valid Forklift Truck Licence (essential)
• Experience handling large or heavy items (e.g. steel sections, pallets) in an outdoor environment
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, data entry, etc.)
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail (GCSE Maths or equivalent)
