SIG Roofing, part of SIG plc, is hiring a Yard/ Warehouse Operative to support branch operations across the UK. You will receive, store, pick and load stock, ensuring accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid Forklift Licence.
• Good data accuracy, numeracy and basic IT skills.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Previous experience in warehouse/yard roles is advantageous.
• Flexible, adaptable, can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Customer-oriented mindset with ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store goods accurately in designated locations.
• Prepare customer orders per sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries, report stock breakages and maintain stock records.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and handling equipment safely.
• Promote a safety culture and ensure colleagues’ safety.
• Build positive relationships with customers at collection/returns points.
• Be flexible to assist with stocktaking and overtime as required.

Yard/ Warehouse Operative at SIG Roofing

We are looking for a reliable and efficient Yard/ Warehouse Operative to join our team, helping us maintain our high standards of service, accuracy, and safety.

What does the role involve?

As a Yard/ Warehouse Operative you will be a key part of the day-to-day operations of the branch. Your role will focus on ensuring the receiving, storage, picking, and loading of stock is completed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the smooth running of the branch. You will work within a supportive and safety-focused environment, helping our team provide the best possible service to our customers.

What you'll be doing:

• Receive and store goods accurately in the correct locations within the warehouse/yard.
• Prepare customer orders according to sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries, report stock breakages, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment in a safe working condition.
• Promote a “Everyone Safe, Every Day,” culture by ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with customers at the collection and returns point.
• Be flexible and assist with stocktaking and overtime as required.

What you’ll bring:
