Job summary

Facilities by ADF plc, based in Longcross (Surrey), is seeking a Yard Assistant. The role is a day shift (8am–5pm) with a £146 daily rate plus benefits. You will help move vehicles and trailers in the yard, hitch/unhitch units, and support on-site operations.

Responsibilities include safe operation, assistance with trailer maintenance, waste removal via vacuum tanker, and close collaboration with the Yard Supervisor. A positive, reliable attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a Class 1 HGV licence.
• Hold a forklift licence.
• Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Able to follow instructions.
• Deliver consistently under pressure.
• Great attention to detail.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Move vehicles and trailers safely around the yard.
• Hitch and unhitch units to trailers and ensure loads are secure.
• Deliver to customer, depot, garage or test centre when required.
• Operate the vacuum tanker and remove waste from trailers on site.
• Work with Yard Supervisor and report any defects.
• Complete check sheets after trailer cleaning and sign off.
