Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence required.
• Experience as Yard Shunter/HGV driver or in transport/logistics environment expected.
• Good understanding of transport compliance and vehicle safety checks.
• Excellent communication with drivers and customers.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness in logistics operations.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely shunt trailers between loading bays and yard locations.
• Support warehouse operations by supplying/removing trailers as required.
• Manage daily yard activities and maintain an organised trailer park.
• Direct and advise visiting hauliers and drivers on site procedures.
• Conduct regular trailer and vehicle inspections and audits.
• Complete vehicle, trailer, and yard compliance checks.
• Report defects or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain yard records and trailer location tracking.
• Follow site traffic management procedures.
• Uphold housekeeping standards across the yard.
• Promote site QHSE standards and investigations into incidents.
