Job summary

EES Recruitment Solutions is recruiting for a Yard Traffic Marshal to join a busy industrial site near Brassington, Derbyshire. The role focuses on safe and efficient movement of vehicles and coordination with drivers and on-site teams.

Ideal candidates will have a strong safety mindset, be able to communicate clearly, and work in a busy environment. The position is permanent, full-time with a 48-hour week and competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quarry, manufacturing, logistics, construction or industrial environment.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness.
• Confidence directing drivers and challenging unsafe behaviour when necessary.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vehicle and traffic movements throughout the yard.
• Direct and control vehicles safely around operational areas.
• Proactively manage traffic flow and congestion.
• Coordinate with drivers during loading and unloading.
• Supervise drivers, contractors and visitors on site.
• Ensure site Health & Safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain safe pedestrian and vehicle routes.
• Communicate with operational teams using radios and other systems.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain yard organisation and housekeeping standards.
• Support investigations where required.
• Work with Processing, Weighbridge, Quarry and Engineering teams.
• Contribute ideas to improve safety and operational efficiency.

Are you confident working in a busy industrial environment where safety, communication and keeping operations moving are absolutely critical?

EES Recruitment Solutions are recruiting for a Yard Traffic Marshal to join a well-established industrial operation based near Brassington, Derbyshire.

This is a hands-on, responsible position where you ll take ownership of the safe and efficient movement of vehicles around a busy operational site. You ll be working closely with drivers, visitors and operational teams, making sure traffic keeps moving, loading and unloading activities are carried out safely and site procedures are followed at all times.

What you ll be doing

As Yard Traffic Marshal, your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring vehicle and traffic movements throughout the yard
• Directing and controlling vehicles safely around operational areas
• Proactively managing traffic flow and congestion
• Coordinating with drivers during loading and unloading
• Supervising drivers, contractors and visitors while on site

What we re looking for

You don t necessarily need to have worked as a Yard Traffic Marshal before. What s important is that you re confident, observant and safety-focused, with the ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels.

You ll ideally have:

• Experience within a quarry, manufacturing, logistics, construction or industrial environment
• Strong Health & Safety awareness
• Confidence directing drivers and challenging unsafe behaviour when necessary
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
• A proactive, self-motivated approach
• Good observational skills and attention to detail
• Basic IT skills
• A flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider operation

Experience working within a 24-hour operational environment would be advantageous.

Qualifications such as Banksman Training, IOSH Working Safely or First Aid at Work would also be beneficial, although these are desirable rather than essential.
