Job summary

British Car Auctions Ltd in Chelmsford is seeking a Yard Operations Team Leader to oversee daily yard operations. The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence and previous experience as a Team Leader.

This position involves leading a team, managing the parking and storage of vehicles, and ensuring operational efficiency. The work is predominantly outdoors, and you will be exposed to all weather conditions. An excellent benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail is critical.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Yard Operatives across a busy site.
• Store and park all vehicles on site according to the daily program.
• Barcode and tag all new vehicles on arrival.
• Log and remove any valuable items left in vehicles.
• Be responsible for jump starting vehicles when needed.

Main purpose of the role:

Within this role, you will be working as a part of Yard Operations Team, leading the daily operations of the yard team.

The yard and halls activities will be predominantly undertaken outdoors, this means that you will spend a significant proportion of their time exposed to all weather conditions throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Leada team of Yard Operatives across a busy site
• Store and park all vehicles on sitewithin the fleet yard, via agreed valet/wash services, so that vehicles enter and leave the site in accordance with the daily program
• Barcode all new vehicleson arrival and tag keys
• Log and removeany valuable items left in vehicle
• Be responsible forjump starting vehicleswhen needed (training provided)
• Politely refer any issues, queries, or complaints to the relevant manager.
• Undertake any other tasks in the yard department to ensure that operational requirements are met within the agreed deadlines.

Skills and expertise

• Previous experience as a Team Leader
• Full UK Driving Licence – you need to be comfortable to drive manual and automatic cars
• You will be passionate to work within the motor industry and take pride in their work, to the highest standards of work set by customers
• You will need the ability to work independently and as a part of the team
• Excellent attention to detail
