Job summary

Huws Gray Wakefield is seeking a Yard Supervisor to lead our Wakefield yard, ensuring smooth operations, stock integrity and timely deliveries. You will manage a team of yard operatives and drivers, maintain safe, well-organised yard practices and contribute to excellent customer service at the Wakefield branch.

The role offers on-site work with opportunities for training and development within a supportive team, plus a focus on safety and efficiency in daily yard tasks.

Qualifications

• Forklift driving licence and experience in a fast-paced environment are advantageous.
• Training and support provided to help you succeed.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing yard operations and working closely with Yard Operatives and Drivers.
• Managing stock levels, identifying faulty or damaged goods and reporting issues to the Branch Manager.
• Supporting deliveries – handling loading and unloading to keep things moving.
• Handling goods in and out, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately on our systems.
• Working as part of a team, keeping our branch running efficiently and delivering excellent customer service.
