Job summary

Transport for London is seeking a Yard Supervisor at Beddington Depot to oversee vehicle movements and ensure safety and efficiency within the depot. You will monitor movements, supervise audits, and maintain high standards of vehicle and driver presentation.

The role requires PCV with CPC, strong literacy and numeracy, and the ability to work with multiple departments. A permanent, on-site position with London-based responsibilities and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of bus operations.
  • PCV licence with CPC is essential.

  • Willing to undertake training as seen fit by operations manager.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and be punctual.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness and driver presentation standards meet London buses BCES Surveys requirements.
  • Ensure audits are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage vehicle and pedestrian movements within the depot.
  • Ensure all visitors including deliveries comply with local H&S requirements.
  • Ensure timely departures from the depot and monitor meal reliefs and changeovers.
  • Manage vehicle parking to ensure drivers adhere to H&S procedures.
  • Ensure TfL equipment such as Oyster/ETM and modules are managed correctly and faults reported via the ERF to TfL as required.
  • Ensure required driver first use checks are undertaken where needed.
  • Daily reconciliation of first use checks, VCR checks and ramp audits.
  • Have a duty of care for health and safety of yourself and colleagues at all times, including reporting unsafe acts or omissions.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the Grade.

Description

To build strong working relationships with colleagues to ensure consistent team approach to achieve the required performance. This will involve monitoring movements of vehicles within the depot and are effectively deployed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the Grade.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
