Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Yard Person for the Kidlington Depot in Oxfordshire. You will maintain a clean, safe yard, manage stock, and ensure proper storage and labelling of plant, equipment, and materials, with weekly and monthly audits.

You will work 45 hours per week (Mon–Fri), liaise with frontline teams to issue and return stock, and support safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives as part of the Thames Water Inventory and Supply team.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual handling, stock control and depot/yard management.
• Forklift licence and/or Tele-handler qualification preferred.
• Awareness of health and safety priorities in a busy yard.
• Good knowledge of safe operational practice for loading and off-loading.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy yard environment.
• Ensure proper storage, securing, maintenance and accounting of plant, equipment and materials.
• Label and readily locate S&G and materials.
• Coordinate with frontline teams to issue and return Thames Water stock.
• Dispose of waste according to Waste Management process.
• Conduct weekly and monthly stock takes, inspections and audits.
• Ensure yard vehicles comply with site safety and traffic plans.
• Record health and safety discrepancies and report them.
• Participate in team meetings and drive continuous improvement.
