Job summary

Travis Perkins in Wrexham is seeking a Yard Assistant to support customer orders, load and unload vehicles, and manage stock in the branch yard. This role is based outdoors and involves interacting with customers on a first-name basis.

You will work a 30-hour week on an alternating shift pattern over two weeks, with shifts starting at 8am. Forklift experience is ideal, but full training is provided, and safety is a priority in our busy yard environment.

• Be physically able to process heavy and bulky stock.
• Safety-focused with tidy, safe working environment.

• Experience with forklift is ideal, but training is provided.

Job description

Location: Travis Perkins, Afon Goch, Ruabon, Wrexham, LL14 6RA. Working Hours: 30 hours per week, alternating shift pattern over 2 weeks. Week 1, Monday - Friday 8am - 2pm, Week 2 Monday - Thursday 8am - 1:15pm, Friday 8am - 1pm, and Saturday 8am - 12pm.

• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.


• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.


• Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry full training is provided


• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

Be confident in your physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock throughout the Yard, within our health and safety guidelines.
